A few hours ago, Wordpress 2.6 was released as an official download on the wordpress website.
If you’ve a frantic Wordpress user, then you’ll remember that Wordpress 2.5 was released not too long ago (March 29th). That’s actually a fairly short upgrade cycle … but there are some welcome features …
There are some excellent updates to [...]

A few hours ago, Yahoo gave up on its talks with Microsoft and decided that a search deal with them wasn’t going to be worth it. Pretty expected reaction considering Microsoft had dumped Yahoo and refused to buy the business as a whole after Yahoo had acted all cheerleader like in the last negotiation.
So, guess [...]

Saturday was a very interesting day - I was judging business plans at Startup @ Singapore 2008. S@S is a business plan competition that allows young entrepreneurs to put their bright ideas into a plan, and if its good - earn about $30,000 in prize money to get it started.
In this article, you’ll find overviews of all the business plans I judged, and my own tips for what makes a competition-winning business plan (Hint - the criteria is quite different from a successful business).

In my last post, more than six months ago … I had outlined a plan for Yahoo to slowly recover from its missteps.
Well, I didn’t see any of those steps happening. Instead, Terry Semel (the then CEO) was kicked out. As of January 31st 2008, he’s also been kicked out of the board of directors.
In [...]

I’m a little heart-broken.
For the past 4 years I’ve been having an on-and-off affair.
There are moments when I’m attracted to her. (It’s usually when things are going bad with my regular love … then we experiment for a while and give “us” a shot).
Initially, she manages to dazzle me. Every time, she comes across with [...]

A few minutes ago, I was in one of my moods … you know, the ones in which you have a strange craving for the iPhone.
I knew it wasn’t coming to Singapore any time soon, but I figured I could spend some time on the Apple.com.sg site and get my fix on some other apple [...]

Just got a heads up from a source (actually it may be stale news by the time I actually get around to finishing this post). Google just bought the most popular RSS company - Feedburner!
Feedburner is the most popular way for blogs to publish their blogs and track its usage … and you can rest [...]

Today is E27.
In case you don’t know what that means, let me explain things a little bit to you. E27 stands for Entrepreneur 27, it’s an informal organization of enterprising young people who promise to change the world before 27.
Well, 27 is close to it anyway … we’re flexible enough to accept people around that [...]

Apple’s always been a role model for innovative marketing - their interfaces are always clean and usable. Their products are always cutting edge and stable. And they follow the marketing concepts of branding and anticipation so well … that books have been written about them.
One of the things they do frequently is introduce new product [...]

Just stumbled upon the most hilarious website! Some smart techie decided to guess what it would be like … if Microsoft bought over Mozilla’s Firefox browser.
This is the original firefox home page …
It’s hilarious … they’ve taken a wonderfully spartan home page of mozilla … and corporatized it with Microsoft’s official colours & look.
So check [...]

Well … we were hearing rumors for a long time. It was called GBuy, Google Buy and a whole other bunch of names. Finally a rival to PayPal is launched as Google Checkout (Google says there is no rivalry, but be serious now :)).
It seems like a great e-commerce system … easy interface … fantastic [...]
