Last month, I got interviewed by India Se magazine on a feature on Young Entrepreneurs. It’s not terribly enlightening on the marketing side of things, but it was a fun interview.

Visiting Startup @ Singapore 2008

May 26th, 2008 | By Rachit Dayal | Category: Entrepreneurship, Online Marketing Editorials, Personal Stories, Technology & Companies, Website Branding

Saturday was a very interesting day - I was judging business plans at Startup @ Singapore 2008. S@S is a business plan competition that allows young entrepreneurs to put their bright ideas into a plan, and if its good - earn about $30,000 in prize money to get it started.

In this article, you’ll find overviews of all the business plans I judged, and my own tips for what makes a competition-winning business plan (Hint - the criteria is quite different from a successful business).

I Can Bend Spoons!

Feb 12th, 2008 | By Rachit Dayal | Category: Health & Healing, Hypnosis, Neuro Linguistic Programming, Personal Development Strategies, Personal Stories

Do you remember the great scene from The Matrix, when Neo meets a little kid who’s bending spoons?

A couple of weeks ago, some friends of mine had gone for a spoon bending class  here (Singapore) and they came back to show off their spoons. At that point I started believing that if they could do [...]

Honey, it’s not working out … My humble experiences with Ubuntu Linux

Sep 17th, 2007 | By Rachit Dayal | Category: News & Updates, Personal Stories, Technology & Companies

I’m a little heart-broken.
For the past 4 years I’ve been having an on-and-off affair.
There are moments when I’m attracted to her. (It’s usually when things are going bad with my regular love … then we experiment for a while and give “us” a shot).
Initially, she manages to dazzle me. Every time, she comes across with [...]

Aug 28th, 2007 | By Rachit Dayal | Category: Personal Stories, Technology & Companies

A few minutes ago, I was in one of my moods … you know, the ones in which you have a strange craving for the iPhone.

I knew it wasn’t coming to Singapore any time soon, but I figured I could spend some time on the Apple.com.sg site and get my fix on some other apple [...]

Now now, I know what many desperate men reading this blog are [...]

Yep, I know I’m been away for a long long time … I missed you too.
The reason I’m away is that I’ve taken a new job. Well, technically I’m a consultant and it’s a consulting relationship … but the client prefers me to work 9 to 7 … so it feels totally [...]

This Holiday Season, Did You Cherish Your Friends?

Jan 19th, 2007 | By Rachit Dayal | Category: Happiness, Health & Healing, Neuro Linguistic Programming, Peace, Personal Stories

In the beginning, we are all alone.
We spend 9 months in a closed, confined space just letting our body learn how to operate itself. We grow vital organs, ensure that we will survive to see the future … and all, in all are too busy to worry about anyone else.

Then we are born.
The first [...]

Maria Sharpova’s post US Open Victory … Crazy Interview

Sep 10th, 2006 | By Rachit Dayal | Category: Personal Stories

If you didn’t know yet, Maria Sharpova just won the U.S. Open. She beat Amelie and Henin-Hardene for her second (and well deserved) grand slam.
The thing was … during the match, the cameras caught her coach giving her finger signals. In tennis, coaching of players in between a match is banned. And obviously, that’s got [...]

Blogically Frustrated!

Sep 9th, 2006 | By Rachit Dayal | Category: Personal Stories

Do any of the other bloggers relate to this?
If I stay away from my blog too long, I become extremely unproductive. I don’t feel like working, all kinds of random thoughts keep floating in my head and I basically just feel lethargic.
Blogging … has become a way to detox my thoughts! I open up wordpress, [...]

And they’re blaming Lamont!

Aug 13th, 2006 | By Rachit Dayal | Category: Personal Stories

Last week, something really significant happened in American politics. Joe Lieberman (the guy who ran for Vice Presidency with Al Gore in 2000) lost his party’s confidence for even getting selected to the Senate.
And he was beaten by a entrepeneur millionaire, who’s only selling point was that he opposed the Iraq War. Ned Lamont, this [...]
